Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)/ Cystitis/ Bladder Infections

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), also known as bladder infections or cystitis, are a common problem for women. Symptoms of a UTI include a burning pain before, during, or after urination; a frequent and urgent need to urinate, although only small amounts of urine may come out; and cloudy or bloody urine. A person with a UTI may experience pain or tenderness in their lower abdomen or back, fever, and a sense of being ill. Allopathic physicians treat UTIs with antibiotics. These control the acute infections quickly, but do not prevent repeated infections. A person with a UTI should be under the care of their health professional, but they may not need to take antibiotics immediately if they follow good self care guidelines and use homeopathic remedies appropriately. A woman who begins to experience burning or frequent urination should immediately begin drinking more liquids to dilute the bacteria and flush them out. Cranberry juice or other acidic juices (not sweetened with sugar) can also help prevent a bacterial infection from beginning. In addition, homeopathic remedies can be helpful.
